Dr. Ball SC health officials released a draft plan in preparation for possible fall flu pandemic. The report clearly illustrates that some serious thought needs to be given with how to treat a significant number of patients with scarce resources. While everyone will receive care, tough decisions will need to be made what type of care.

“If we have a severe pandemic lasting a year or so, then South Carolina could experience again an overwhelming surge on our medical and healthcare facilities resulting in up to 17,000 hospitalizations,” said Dr. Robert Ball with the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
